When knitting with several small balls of yarn, these skeins have a tendency to uncoil inside of project bags as they roll around, causing strands of various yarn to become entangled, leaving a frustrating mess. The skein lock works easily and effectively to trap yarn ends, holding them secure even as they move around. Simply push the lock into the skein, making sure to catch any stray ends in its teeth.
