Both studio roles would be starting on the 13th of January 2026, but I am flexible with this start date.
Studio Assistant Manager
The role is 4 days a week - Monday to Thursday (hours flexible) based at our studio in Market Weighton, YO43 3GA.
It would also include working at yarn festivals (various festivals throughout the year - mostly on weekends.) You must be able to work weekdays and weekends (when required). This role will be paid the Real Living wage of £13.45 per hour.
This role is a physically demanding position, and you would be involved in the physicality of dyeing yarn and the loading and unloading of stock at festivals. Training of course, will be provided.
Job Requirements
- Passion for Yarn and crafting
- Helpful, likes problem solving
- Retail experience
- Reliable
- Prepared to ‘get stuck in’
- Positive attitude and detail orientated
- Intermediate or above knitting or crochet ability
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to carry boxes of yarn / products
The role includes the following tasks:
- Hand dyeing, twisting and labelling yarn
- Managing and planning shop updates + events
- Supporting Sophie with elements of the business
- Developing the wholesale branch of Botanical Yarn
- The flexibility of being involved in YouTube episodes + Instagram lives
- Answering emails and delivering exceptional customer service
- Updating the website on Shopify

Studio Assistant
Studio Assistant is a part-time position of approximately 15 – 23 hours per week. You must be able to work weekdays and weekends (when required). This equates to 2 - 3 full days per week in person work at the Botanical Yarn studio in Market Weighton, YO43 3GA.
This role will be paid the Real Living wage of £13.45 per hour.

- Assisting customers at Yarn Festivals with decisions about yarn / patterns
- Print order packing lists, shipping labels and processing online orders.
- Organising stock and a passion for visual merchandising
