Enjoy a colorful collage of stripes and slip stitches with this floral inspired shawl. Choose four colors of fingering weight yarn, one main color plus three contrast color pops. The shawl begins with blooming bubble stitches that flow into a diagonal petal slip stitch pattern. The border features colorful short row crescents followed by a wavy border with airy eyelets. You can customize the size of the border by binding off early for a smaller shawl or knit the full border for a large cozy shawl. This pattern is perfect for those special single skeins of yarn and it’s sure to become a new favorite accessory in your woolly wardrobe.

If you want the large border like my sample, then achieving the recommended gauge is important, so you don’t run out of yarn. I recommend binding off early with the smaller border option to be safe if you are worried about running out of yarn. You can also use a kitchen scale to weigh your yarn as you knit the border rows. This will provide an indication of your yarn usage during the long border rows.
