The Shell Tee is a lightweight t-shirt with a gently scooping neckline and options for a short and a long sleeve. It is a top-down raglan, initially worked flat and then joined in the round once the neckline has been shaped. The Shell Tee can be finished with either rib or i-cord details at the collar, cuffs, and hem.
The pattern is available in a 4-ply/fingering and a DK weight. This kit is for the DK WEIGHT.
You will begin by working raglan increases and neckline shaping back and forth in rows, and will then cast on new stitches to connect the right and left halves of the front section of the yoke. You will then continue to work raglan increases, with different increase rates to the sleeve and body sections towards the end of the yoke. Once the yoke is complete, you will work the length of the body. I next recommend applying the collar before finally working the sleeves in turn to your desired length.

Yardage with 6 colours: If you want to make the short sleeve option and want to work the stripes in a total of 11 colours (1 main colour, 10 contrast colours) like my sample, I estimate you will need approximately 160 (165) 170 (180), 185 (190) 200 (210), 220 (240) 260 (270) m of a DK-weight yarn in your main colour and approximately 120 (125) 130 (135), 140 (145) 150 (155), 170 (180) 190 (210) m of a DK-weight yarn in each of your contrast colours.
Yardage with 1 colour: If you wanted to make your Shell Tee DK in 1 colour, this is an approximate total of 740 (770) 810 (840), 880 (900) 950 (990), 1030 (1120) 1210 (1290) m of a DK-weight yarn.
Techniques include leaning increases and decreases, working flat and in the round, establishing and maintaining stripes, picking up and knitting stitches, working either a sewn or I-cord cast-off.
