Introducing Natural Fluff 4ply
Botanical Yarn is so excited to introduce another new, fluffy and super luxurious base. Natural Fluff is 38% baby alpaca, 25% merino and 37% cotton. With 400m per 100g it will be an easy swap for most of your favourite fingering weight patterns. But with this new light weight, fluffy and soft base we wanted to highlight some patterns to let the yarn shine.
If you love suri alpaca but want something with a bit more substance to it, this base is for you! It has a fluffy halo similar to the mohair hair and suri alpaca lace yarns but the cotton and merino give this yarn a bit more substance while still be light and fluffy.
Garments;
This boxy textured tee will be floaty and light with our new Natural Fluff base. I love Eri's simply and timeless designs. Flores by Eri Shimizu
Why not try mixing bases, I think using the Natural Fluff as the contrast colourwork while using our regular merino sock as the main colour will give you such a nice fluffy effect with the colourwork. I think this floral colourwork design is particularly lovely! Cherry Bloom by Lene Tosti.
This is half sweater half shrug but the beautiful drapey finish would be perfect for the Natural Fluff with its alpaca and cotton blend. The pattern is written for DK weight yarn, so try holding this base double to get gauge. Wrap Me Up Sweater Scarf by Chantal Miyagishima.
Neckwear;
Purl Soho always comes through with classic and FREE patterns! This Soft as a Cloud Cowl describes the Natural Fluff yarn perfectly!
Another option for base mixing. Use regular sock yarn and Natural Fluff to create this beautiful two texture shawl. Charmeuse by Rosemary Hill.
Crochet;
Another free Purl Soho pattern, this Single Crochet Cap will be cosy and let the Natural Fluff shine!
Let me know what you plan to make using this fluffy beautiful new base!
