Winter Floral Box 2022 - Inspiration

Winter Floral Box 2022 - Inspiration

Hey Folks, it's Nicola, back again with some more inspiration posts for what to actually make with all the lovely yarn you've bought! With this box I will focus on yarn from the Winter Floral Boxes, which started today, Sunday the 6th of November.

Just a bit of a disclaimer, all links will lead to Ravelry and all images have come from Ravelry. If you are unable to access Ravelry and can't find the designs by googing for the designer's website, please send me an email (nicola@botanicalyarn.com) and I will do my best to help.

First, I'll focus on the
Winter Floral Box - 50g Skein Box

If you've ordered the 4ply 50g box, you will have a total of 1,700m. Here are a couple patterns that would work with the yarns you receive in your Winter Floral Box!

Oneway Roadtrip Shawl by Marion Bulin
This pattern uses 4 colours + a contrast colour for the icord edges and (optional) icord tails! It is completely garter stitch so a perfect project to keep your hands occupied during all the festive activities coming up over the next few weeks.

I met this designer wearing this poncho on The Hill at Rhinebeck! I was so drawn to it, I had to approach her and ask her for the pattern name, so I was pleasantly surprised to meet the designer herself! This pattern is easily customisable to adjust how many colours you have available but the total meterage works with the 8 x 50g yarn!
If you've ordered the DK 50g box, you will have a total of 850m. Here are a couple patterns that would work with the yarns you receive in your Winter Floral Box!

Strata Cowl by Megan Gonzalez
This pattern is FREE! It is brioche but don't let that intimidate you, brioche in the round is a bit easier than flat and why not challenge yourself to learn a new skill this festive period!

Painted Calathea by Sonja Bargielowska
I was drawn to this shawl initially because of the striking slip stitch pattern, but the name is what made me include it! As you know, Sophie's other passion is house plants and the calathea is a well known house plant. I can tell you, knitting this garter and slip stitch shawl will be easier than keeping a calathea alive (don't ask me about my latest causality!)

Winter Floral Box - 100g Skein Box

If you've ordered the 4ply 100g box, you will have a total of 3,400m. This box comes with a lot of yarn, so thi project will be bigger one with the aim of using at least most of the yarn you receive.

Garden House Baby Blanket by Jocelyn Tunney
This baby blanket needs 3,115m, so you may have just enough yarn left for a coordinating baby hat.

If you've ordered the DK 100g box, you will have a total of 1,696m.

Paint Daubs Blanket by Kaffe Fassett
You may need a larger quantity of one colour to use as the main colour for this blanket but the pops would be great for using up your DK winter floral box yarn!
